Félix Vallotton (1865–1925) was a Swiss-born painter and printmaker who became a French citizen and a key figure in turn-of-the-century Paris. Associated with the Nabis group alongside Bonnard and Vuillard (though always something of an outsider among them), he became the leading figure in reviving the woodcut as a serious modern art form. His style is built on bold blocks of black and white, sharp contour lines, and a flattened, graphic sense of space — work that feels strikingly modern even now, decades before "graphic design" was a phrase anyone used. His prints capture Parisian café society, domestic interiors, and pointed social satire with a cool, almost cinematic detachment.
Vallotton's woodcuts remain some of the most striking and collectible prints from the turn of the 20th century, prized for their stark contrast and confident, minimal lines. Whether you're after a piece of turn of the century Paris or simply love the impact of strong graphic art, his work brings instant character and a touch of art-history edge to any wall.
_______
This is a museum-quality giclée art print produced on heavyweight textured Fine Art paper. This process enhances colour depth and detail, giving the artwork a rich, gallery-worthy finish. Printed with premium archival inks, the result offers fade resistance of up to 100 years in albums and several decades on display, so your print can be enjoyed for many years to come.
Each print is individually produced with care, making it ideal for your home, studio, or as a unique gift.
Many of our prints include a very thin white border as a presentation choice. This helps preserve as much of the original image as possible and ensures easy framing — most frames will cover the border entirely. Non-standard image sizes will have larger borders, clearly visible in each product image.
